Colombia Finca La Sierra Geisha Natural
Featured Coffee: Colombia Finca La Tierra Geisha
We're excited to offer this extraordinary Geisha micro-lot from Finca La Tierra in Morales, Cauca, Colombia. This project is led by partners Johan Ekfeldt and Heber Sarria, who are dedicated to making the 10-hectare farm completely sustainable since purchasing it in 2015.
Origin Colombia
Producer Johan Ekfeldt & Heber Sarria, Finca La Tierra
Variety Geisha
Process Natural
Elevation 1,550 m
Tasting Profile: Fruity & Sweet
This Geisha offers a soft, full-bodied, and sweet experience, a direct result of the slow-drying process:
Aroma: A lively, dominant dry aroma of tea rose.
Flavor Notes: Distinct notes of red apple and hibiscus.
Mouthfeel: Features a lower acidity, with increased body and sweetness. The profile is fruity and tea-like, capturing the intense sweetness from the dried cherry pulp.
The Innovation Behind the Cup
This lot was produced using a meticulous Natural process:
Selection: Berries were hand-picked from their second-ever Geisha harvest.
Pre-Drying: Cherries spent a short time in closed barrels.
Slow Dry: The coffee was then dried very slowly on raised beds for 28 days, ensuring the fruit's sweetness fully permeates the bean.
The farm's commitment to sustainability includes planting shade trees, using natural cow manure fertilizer, and cultivating various quality varieties like Pink Bourbon, Caturra, and Tabi.
Roasted in Trollhättan. We send coffee that has rested up to two weeks after roasting when available, and roasts to order when needed. We send coffee within a week of ordering. In Sweden, shipping is included on orders from 1kg.
